d8400 is in 250 dollar phone, why cant they put them in laptops with 7w tdp, performance is good, battery life would be terrifc,in the end they all portable compute devices, software will be the pain in the ass

Compatibility issues. Dimensity and Snapdragon are both ARM-based, not x86-64 architecture, which means limited desktop program compatibility. The situation has got better now, but it's still a long way to go.

Hmm, the only thing better on the Dimensity 8400 is Bluetooth 6. So, in a way, if you like listening to music with wireless headphones, it's better. But in everything else, it scores quite better on the Dimensity 9300 Plus.

I like the 8400. It has all the power I need. Less heat as well compared to the flagships. If optimization is good I think most people will completely be satisfied with it.
