Qualcomm launched the 7 gen 3 to compete with the 7200. Shame on them.

I'm deciding on a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3-powered Motorola Edge 50 Pro and Redmi Note 13 Pro+ for my wife while she waits for her iPhone (13 Pro/Pro Max or 14 Pro/Pro Max). She's got to wait for around one to one and a half years to buy the iPhone because we need to save money to make the purchase. Now, back to the Motorola Edge 50 Pro and Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus, I really can't decide which one to buy. She's not a gamer so a strong GPU is not really important, but a better GPU is preferred nonetheless. The main area where I can't decide is the battery. Redmi sports a 5000 mAh battery while Motorola sports a 4500 mAh battery, but Motorola has slightly faster charging at 125W while Redmi has 120W, not much of a difference, huh. I slightly prefer Redmi's 5000 mAh with 120W because the additional 500mAh is an advantage, as Redmi will last longer. Regarding the looks, I think both are beautiful but I slightly prefer the Motorola, though Redmi is nothing to scoff at. So, I think I might go for the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus over the Motorola Edge 50 Pro but I'm not that sure. My wife is going to use the phone for one to one and a half years before switching over to the iPhone 13 Pro/14 Pro or Pro Max.

Go with Moto One, the best all-rounder phone under 30k. A 4500 mAh battery is more than enough because Moto's optimization is far better than Redmi's.

If she's going to use it for less than 2 years, then buy some budget phones. Why are you wasting 30k on an Android phone which you're not going to use for a longer period? Consider the iQOO Z9 or Samsung F15. That's more than enough for her usage. You're not a gamer either.

Does memory bandwidth impact gaming? For instance, the Dimensity 7200 has double the bandwidth.

In our experience and tests it has almost no effect.

It largely depends on the other parts of the SoC as well. A higher cache can sometimes offset the need for higher bandwidth. The bandwidth issue can also be resolved if the GPU can better compress it. The problem of bandwidth is mostly observed in lower 1% and 0.1% lows, but not much in average FPS, resulting in more severe stutters.

Memory bandwidth is a data transfer rate between Processor and ram . So yes it has an effect. But in those above phones there is no impact of memery bandwidth. Because Xiaomi used trash 2133mhz ddr4x Ram. πŸ˜‚ What you will do with double memory bandwidth if there is not compatible ram installed in the phone

Can the Snapdragon 7 series Gen 3 handle games, such as Call of Duty, at 90 FPS?

No, not for now. It may be done in a couple of months after the update, as its new processor optimization will be ongoing.
