I'm using a Samsung phone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and a Xiaomi phone with the 8100. The battery life of the Samsung is significantly better in regular use, as well as its camera. With the 8 Gen 1, I finish each day with about 4 hours of screen-on time and 21 hours of standby, still having 30-35% battery left. In contrast, the Xiaomi gives me 3.5-4 hours of screen-on time but is left with less than 10% battery by day's end.

I believe your Xiaomi is running on a poorly optimized version of MIUI. You might want to consider de-bloating, updating, or downgrading your operating system, or even installing a custom ROM.

I'd go with Snapdragon just for the fact I can change ROMS. The day MTK release their sources for free is the day I'll migrate.

You all know the problem I've had. I used to play with my Samsung S22 Ultra, which has the Gen1 Snapdragon. It was terrible. Now, I've switched to a Xiaomi phone, and it's way better! It's cheaper, better, faster, and more stable. Now I can game without being frustrated by the poor performance of the Samsung. :) I'll never buy one again - I'd rather save money and be happy in two ways. Buy what you need, not what you want.

Based on an in-depth analysis by "Geekerwan". He found out that Mediatek Dimensity 8100 has the highest Multi-Core Power Efficiency Performance 3x! Heard it right! 3x! over the ordinary Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Snapdragon's collaboration with "Samsung Fabrication" makes their flagship performs very worse than "TSMC". And in the 2nd Analysis test now is the Fabrication it found out that the TSMC Cortex A-78 of Dimensity 8100 is at the top 1 of the highest performing efficient Core much higher than the latest TSMC Cortex A-710!? Cortex is a Culprit!!!. While Samsung's Cortex A-78 used by Snapdragon 888 and 8 Gen 1 performs very worst on the analysis. Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 on the other hand bounces back to TSMC Fabrication and now performs the same as Mediatek Dimensity 8100 Conclusion: Don't buy Snapdragon 888 and ordinary Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 phones they have Samsung Fabrication which performs worst than Mediatek Dimensity 8100 with TSMC I saw the analysis and I laugh! Snapdragon Scammed by Samsung

I never tried nor use any Mediatek Dimensity 8100 device but I would say this is the best Chipset of 2022 as an Underdog Flagship really a Fight Back of Mediatek over Snapdragon.
