After thorough research, from surely going for poco x4 GT with dimensity 8100 to ending up buying poco f4 instead with dimensity 870. Although 8100 was better in every aspect on paper, the actual gaming performance on it was kind of disappointing. One reason is due to not being an open-source chip and lots of restrictions from manufacturers making it less optimized for most games compared to SD870. And don't be fooled by peak performance measurements which are shown in benchmarks. You won't be using peak performance in most of your activities, yes even in gaming. There is what they called power efficiency over performance to deliver a consistent gaming experience. (WATCH GEEKERWAN ON YT). Samsung Manufactured chips like Sd 888 and 8gen1 even fall below SD 865 even though they have astonishing peak performance on paper. Maybe skip to 8 gen Plus 1 which is manufactured by TMSC again. Overall snapdragon 870 is a much safer choice for gaming, has lots of support, already optimize since it's a 2-year-old chip, with consistent real-time performance. Although dimensity 8100 is not a bad choice for gaming either. Although you will have to disable a bunch of stuff in order to make it run better which is don't want to risk on a new phone.

you should update android 13 for best performance on poco x4 gt

As for now, there is no doubt SD 870 is better in optimization. Let's forget about peak performance as you said but Cortex A78 cores are way more potent than A77 in all statuses, especially in power efficiency and 8100 is in 5nm fabrication. So you will see clearly that SD 870 is not a competitor for dimensity 8100 later.

I agree with community support, while Android games today still cannot put SD870 to its knees, I usually test this chip for Switch Emulation which is much harder to run obviously. And surprisingly it is running very very well, too well in fact, popular 3D switch titles run and have much less graphical bugs compared to non-snapdragon with similar performance.

OnePlus 10R is outstanding. Don't compare with mid-range Poco F4. 10R is 10 leagues ahead.

It depends on what you will use it for. Poco F4 is a good all-around phone in its price range, from the camera, and display to the end of the performance & it is also premium. Although the K50i is LCD, its LCD can be said to be the best among LCD phones. Focused only on performance. The camera, built quality, and speakers feel less compared to Poco F4. So if you want to play a lot of games with high graphic settings & more stable FPS, you should choose the K50i.

I had the same doubt as I was getting both at a similar price. Went with Poco F4 and so far only concern is that of the camera which is often a hit or miss but is definitely above average. Also, the battery life could be longer but it's not much of an issue since there's a fast charger along with the phone. Rest all is absolutely great. Gaming doesn't heat the mobile much.

I'd say buy the F4 because its screen, camera, and overall experience is better & with better cooling, it will also throttle less.

Dimensity vs snapdragon 27 August 2022 17:36
AMOLED panels have one-third less resolution than LCD panels, so it is clear that the same processors on two different phones with different AMOLED and LCD panels do not display the same power. Processors in AMOLED panels run games more easily due to lower resolution, resulting in higher FPS. Definitely, if we compare the Poco X4 GT with Poco F4 in practice, Poco F4 gives better results because the AMOLED panel has a lower resolution than one-third, so it requires less power to run smooth games. Dimension 8100 is stronger in graphics than Snapdragon 870. But Snapdragon 870 is slightly stronger in CPU. I used Google Translate, maybe the meaning of my words is not conveyed well.

Dimensity vs snapdragon 08 September 2022 11:31
Shashank, it's true The quality of both is 1080p But if you put the AMOLED and LCD displays together with the same quality, you will notice that more details can be seen in the LCD display. It is because of their manufacturing technology In the AMOLED display, each pixel is lit individually, but in the LCD display, all the pixels are lit together and have a backlight.

Dimensity vs snapdragon, Both are still outputting at 1080p resolution, regardless of how both technologies(Amoled and LCD) might differ in terms of their physical nature.

Dimensity vs snapdragon, Samsung phones have one-third lower resolution AMOLED panels Maybe the phone of other brands is not like this. I have ever had a Samsung phone with an AMOLED panel, or if I had a phone from another brand, it did not have an AMOLED panel. Maybe Samsung will reduce the resolution of its phones by one-third. I compared Samsung Galaxy A50 with Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro. Both panels have full HD+ quality, but the Redmi Note 9 Pro has an LCD panel and the Samsung A50 has an AMOLED panel. The resolution of the Redmi Note 9 Pro was more visible and the details were clearly visible, but this was not the case with the Samsung A50.

Shashank, The friend must be talking about the panel. Because the leds of amoled screens are larger and less used. That's where PPI comes in. That's why the pixel range is different. IPS needs more LEDs, but it is a very power consuming panel, but it still runs cooler because it does not emit much light. Amoled has larger LEDs. This is due to the working principle of larger LEDs with less energy and the brighter image. As for the distance between the LEDs and the panel used, it is right here that it affects the battery a lot. I think the commenter meant that.

Shashank, What he meant to say was, AMOLED screens can switch off the dark (Black) pixels on the screen while LCD/TFT/IPS screens have to display/generate black color. This can be as extreme as 1/3rd of the screen during dark scenes. Hope this helped.

I'm stuck between the Poco F3/F4 and the Poco X4 GT. The reason is F3 has a ton of custom ROM support while the X4 GT has none (maybe because of the limitations on MediaTek processors). But at the same time, the X4 GT has been shown to be better at gaming. Anyone would give advice?

Dimensity 8100 is better in all aspects as both are based on TSMC's process still 8100 is more power efficient and the bloatware which u are talking about can be removed by USB debugging hence no need to unlock bootloaders at all.

Honestly, this goes to show that the dimensity 8100 was made to be better (specs-wise and whatnot) but the snapdragon 870 was made for gaming although released later. personally, I'd go for the dimensity because I don't game much on my phones anymore so gaming specs don't mean that much to me.

I cast my vote for the SD 870 and why in the document the Dimensity 8100 is much better, but in practice no, it's not better at running games, it's not better at compressing 4k video, it's not better at the opening and closing apps, it's a good processor but shows a big lack of optimization

Memediatek, 870 will be shit soon lmao, more and more updates on games it's safer to go 8100 since it's newer and will last better. Why waste money to get a fan cooler for your phone when you can get a dimensity chipset on your phone? The performance will still downgrade the longer you play with a phone that has an 8 series snapdragon chipset, 8100 will still be better for long-term gaming and they're both flagship chipsets, how can you even call either weak?
