If we are comparing 5700G and 8500G, unless you need every bit of multi-core performance, have an am4 board and a few sticks of ddr4 lying around, or else 8500G wins in almost all scenarios. The multicore of 8500G is just slightly inferior compared to 5700G but the platform it based on is a lot more future proofed and the IGP on 8500G is slightly better compared to 5700G in gaming. If you are willing to spend a lil bit more cash, get the 8600G instead which have better multi core performance due to all Zen4 cores instead of a hybrid of Zen4 and Zen4C cores on 8500G, and double amount of IGP compute unite, 4 on 8500G and 8 on 8600G. On top of that 8500G have nerfed PCIE capabilities, 2 Gen4 lanes for NVME and 4 Gen4 lanes for DGP while 8600G have double of lanes for NVME and DGP.
