The Dimensity 8020 is an optimized version of the Dimensity 8050. 8020: Octacore (4x2.6GHz, 4x2.0GHz) 8050: Octacore (1x3.0GHz, 3x2.6GHz, 4x2.0GHz) Although the 8050 has a 3.0GHz core, it doesn't necessarily mean that it is superior. It won't be running at 3.0GHz all the time as it would drain the battery and overheat quickly. However, it excels in single-core performance, as more demanding workloads can be distributed to the higher clock speed, which benefits gaming. On the other hand, the Dimensity 8020 has a balanced distribution of clock speed among its cores, which equates to better multi-core performance. The operating system manages task distribution efficiently. If there are four cores with the same clock speed, tasks specific to this speed will be assigned to these cores and managed more efficiently, which is ideal for multi-tasking. By the way, the 8020 scored 777,000 on Antutu, while the 8050 scored 716,000 (these are chipset scores, not phone scores). Therefore, I personally prefer the Dimensity 8020 over the 8050.

In my opinion, I'd lean towards the Dimensity 8050. It's better in terms of balance and doesn't overheat. This is because, as I mentioned, it has a balanced core setup: 1 core at 3000Hz, 3 cores at 2600Hz, and 4 cores at 2000Hz. In contrast, the Dimensity 8020 features 4 cores at 2600Hz and 4 cores at 2000Hz. In the end, it's up to you and what you prefer. However, if you're seeking a good phone at a reasonable price, consider checking out the Infinix Note 30 VIP. It's equipped with the Dimensity 8050. And if you're interested in a phone with the Dimensity 8020, I'd suggest looking into the Infinix Note 30 ZERO. Thanks for your time, buddy!

I agree with your perspective. As someone who has purchased devices with these two exact processors β€” the Infinix GT 10 Pro with the D8050 and the Infinix Zero 30 with the D8020 β€” I've found the real-world performance is significantly better on the GT 10 Pro than the Zero 30. It offers less overheating, increased battery life, and minimal throttling under stressful conditions. Despite what the benchmarks might suggest, I believe the D8050 outperforms the D8020 in every condition.
